The Design Process

KDOT and the design team have been working on the K-7 and I-70 interchange for some time. In 2010 KDOT identified the funding needed to complete final design plans for Phases 1-3 of the interchange. Construction will start with Phase 2 first and is anticipated to begin in late 2012. Click through the slideshow to find out more about the first three phases of the project.

The time necessary to see the design through to full-build out will depend upon available funding and federal, state, and local priorities. Several decades may be needed to complete the entire process. Click here to see the schedule for the next few years.
