The Design Process
KDOT and the design team have been working on the K-7 and I-70 interchange for some time. In 2011 KDOT announced that it would fund final design plans and construction for Phases 1-3 of the interchange through its T-WORKS program. Construction will start with Phase 2 and is anticipated to begin in early 2013.
The time necessary to see the design through to full-build out will depend upon available funding and federal, state, and local priorities. Several decades may be needed to complete the entire process. Click here to see the schedule for the next few years.
