Current Improvements

The final design and construction of the new K-7 and I-70 Interchange may be several decades away, but KDOT is coordinating with the City of Bonner Springs to ease some of the traffic issues impacting the area today. For example, in response to congestion issues, KDOT built a second left turn lane onto southbound K-7 from the I-70 exit ramp and added new traffic signals at the intersection of K-7 and Canaan Drive in 2009. Construction of Phase 2 for the new K-7and I-70 Interchange is scheduled to begin in late 2012.
