The Schedule
The preliminary design process began in 2007 and will take several years to complete. KDOT has identified the funding needed to complete final design plans for Phases 1-3 of the interchange. Construction will start with Phase 2 first and is anticipated to begin in late 2012. Public meetings will be used to keep the community up to speed over the course of the project.

Begin preliminary design of Phases 1-3 of the interchange. |

Finish preliminary design of Phases 1-3. Then begin right-of-way design of the same phases. |

2011 |

Finish right-of-way design of Phases 1-3. Then begin final design for them. Finish preliminary design plans for the remaining portions (Phases 4-10) of the ultimate interchange. |
Public Meeting (Early 2011) |
| 2011 - 2014 | Finish final design of Phases 1-3 and build new bridges and roadway approaches over I-70 at both Riverview Avenue and 118th Street, and realign 122nd Street and Riverview Avenue (Phase 2). |
